MSG Network Holding Viewing Parties for Time Warner Cable Customers

With Time Warner Cable having pulled the plug on MSG Network to start the new year, the regional sports cable network is helping fill the void.

MSG Network is holding several viewing parties tonight, specifically geared to fans shut out by Time Warner Cable.

The Knicks/Bobcats game will be shown at Snap Bar, Village Pourhouse, and The Hill in Manhattan, and at Bootleg Mannings on Staten Island.

The viewing parties, which begin at 7:30 p.m., are free and open to the public.

Appetizers will be on the menu, and MSG Network will provide prizes and giveaways. Enhancing the experience, the Knicks City Dancers will make a special appearance.

In addition, event staff will be available to help Time Warner Cable customers find other television providers that are available in their neighborhoods.

“All we have asked is for Time Warner Cable to value our programming in the same way as other TV providers — nothing more, nothing less,” said Michael Bair, president, MSG Media. “Unfortunately, they rejected every offer we made to them for almost two years. In the end, they were simply not interested in conducting serious negotiations on behalf of their customers and instead spent their time grossly mischaracterizing our positions to the public. We certainly hope Time Warner Cable returns to the negotiating table and reconsiders our good faith proposals. Until that happens, we encourage Time Warner Cable subscribers to switch providers by calling 888-keepmsg (533-7674) or visiting”

Fans are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to game time and admission is on a first come, first serve basis. Fans must be 21 years of age or older to be admitted.
