Immersive marketing agency Pretty Big Monster teamed up with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Snap Inc. on an interactive social augmented reality experience to back Friday’s (April 1) theatrical release of Morbius.
The Snapchat lens includes spatially inspired audio, world scanning, voice changing and real-time 3D.
In selfie view, Snapchatters will see themselves in the key art as they become Morbius.
In world view, they can try Morbius’ echolocation superpower through an audio-triggered effect that lets users see their world as Morbius does using “bat radar.”
Actor and musician Jared Leto assisted in promotion, and lines from the film were used in the lens.
Pretty Big Monster has created experiences featuring emerging technologies for brands including Amazon, Disney, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Snap and Sony.
