Instagram announced Thursday that 25 million businesses are now using its platform, up from 15 million in July and 8 million in March.
The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network said in a blog post that more than 80 percent of people on Instagram follow at least one business, and 200 million Instagram users actively visit at least one business profile every day.
Instagram began testing business profiles in mid-2016 before making them available in the U.S. in June 2016 and globally late that year.
Facebook said in its third-quarter-2017 earnings report that Instagram has more than 2 million active advertisers.
