Snapchat Snapcodes Become Snackcodes in Ride-Sharing Cars With Cargo Boxes

The in-vehicle commerce platform also teamed up with SnackNation for its Los Angeles launch

In-car commerce platform Cargo is bringing its boxes full of snacks and other retail products to cars in Los Angeles, with help from messaging application Snapchat and snack delivery service SnackNation.

Cargo does not have formal relationships with ride-sharing apps like Uber or Lyft (although it does have access to Uber’s application-programming interface), instead working directly with drivers.

Those drivers can go to Cargo’s website to sign up and receive their boxes, and Cargo said thousands of drivers are participating, having been reached through a mix of digital and referral marketing.
