The Seattle Mariners posted the most growth on Facebook among Major League Baseball teams in May, according to social marketing firm Unmetric, while the Los Angeles Angels led Twitter growth for the month and the Atlanta Braves topped Instagram.
The Braves led engagement on Facebook, while the New York Yankees did so on Twitter and Instagram.
Unmetric examined its cross-channel reports for all 30 MLB clubs from May 1 through 31, and it also found that:
- The Yankees maintained their hold on largest audience size across all three social networks.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers were the most prolific Facebook posters in May, while the Boston Red Sox were the top tweeters and the most active club on Instagram was the Oakland Athletics.
- The Yankees tallied the most likes on Facebook and Twitter, while the most-liked MLB squad on Instagram was the Dodgers.
- The Dodgers drew the most comments on Facebook and Instagram, while the New York Mets did so on Twitter.
