Spotify did some shopping this week, acquiring podcast analytics platform Chartable and podcast advertising measurement service Podsights.
Insider Intelligence eMarketer projects annual digital audio ad revenue in the U.S. to reach nearly $8 billion by 2025, with roughly $2.7 billion of that total coming from podcasts, and Spotify said the two acquisitions will help it uplevel digital audio measurement and insights across the industry for advertisers and podcast publishers.
The audio streaming platform said the integration of Chartable’s audience insights and cutting-edge promotional tools, SmartLinks and SmartPromos, will follow up its acquisition of podcast technology platform Whooshkaa last December and help publishers using its Megaphone suite of tools turn audience insights into action and expand their listenership.
And Podsights will be able to tap Spotify’s technology and intelligence to deliver accurate measurement and actionable insights to podcast advertisers, helping them to understand how podcast ads drive actions that matter to their businesses.
