Meta said late Tuesday that it updated its Community Help feature on Facebook so that Ukrainians and others in the war-torn region can find reliable information from local UN agencies and Red Cross societies.

Information that will be provided includes where to seek medical help, how to stay safe and how to get assistance, for both people still in Ukraine and those who have crossed the border into neighboring countries.

Community Help will also enable people to access Ukraine’s State Emergency Services information helpline on WhatsApp, which connects people with critical information including emergency response procedures.

People accessing Facebook or Instagram in Ukraine and those who have left for neighboring countries will see a link at the top of their feed alerting them about the availability of Community Help, and it can be accessed at the top of results for relevant searches on Facebook, or here.
