Twitter’s Data Saver Feature Was Added to Its iOS, Android Apps

Users can opt for lower-quality images, no auto-play videos

Twitter extended the Data Saver feature that already existed in its Twitter Lite application for emerging markets, areas with poor connectivity and older devices—as well as on Twitter for Windows and the social network’s mobile site—to all users of its flagship iOS and Android apps.

Data Saver enables people to choose to load images in lower quality and not auto-play videos. Tapping on the more icon gives users the option of viewing a specific image in higher quality.

iOS and Android users can activate Data Saver by accessing Data Usage in their settings menus and toggling it on and off.
