Facebook Just Began Testing a Way to Share Events via Stories

Some users in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil will see the option

Tappable stickers can be added to Stories

Facebook will begin testing a new way to combine two features it has been bullish on in recent months: Stories and events.

Some users in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil will see a new option in evens, Share to Your Story, enabling them to add tappable stickers to their Stories that provide event details, give friends a link to the event page and allow friends to indicate that they are interested or going directly within those Stories.

Group chats can also be started with friends who responded that they were attending the event.

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to an event page.
  • Click Share below the event’s date and time.
  • Tap Share to Your Story.
Users in the test group will see the Share to Your Story option

Facebook events product manager Andrew Valko said, “Facebook events help people take their online connections offline. We’re testing new Stories features to help people build excitement and rally friends before an event even starts.”
