Former Hulu senior vice president and head of marketing Jenny Wall will become podcast network Gimlet Media’s first chief marketing officer.
Wall will oversee all marketing and audience-growth efforts at Brooklyn-based Gimlet Media, which has been expanding its efforts in branded podcasting, inking deals with Blue Apron, Mastercard, Microsoft and more. She brings three years of experience from Hulu to a company that wants to be the HBO of audio.
At Hulu, Wall oversaw the marketing of high-profile original shows including The Mindy Project, Difficult People, Casual and The Handmaid’s Tale.
Prior to Hulu, Wall spent a year-and-a-half as vp of marketing at Netflix, handling launch campaigns for original programming including House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black and Arrested Development.
