With all the dollars poured into developing new cars, one might think it counterintuitive for a car brand to advertise older, second-hand models. Nevertheless, used vehicles are the focus of Renault’s latest brand ad.
The spot by Publicis is a glamorous and nostalgic film that takes the viewer back to the 1960s and advertises its approved used models.
The second-hand market has been growing “in recent years… [and] has continued to develop,” in particular as consumers look to limit their impact on the environment, said Publicis and Renault in a statement.
Renault has been “refurbishing, overhauling, and reselling” used cars since 1959—before it became “fashionable,” the brand added.
