Retailer Penny highlights the social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic for young people

A Christmas campaign by German supermarket chain Penny’s recognizing that young people have missed out on some of the most important moments of their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic has hit over 4 million organic views on YouTube in the first week of release.

“Der Wunsch” or “The Wish”, created by Serviceplan Campaign, sees a mother and son sit at their dining room table as he asks her what she really wants for Christmas. Her response is surprising as she encourages him to do all the many things a parent would normally advise their child not to—go out and party, get drunk, fall in love, travel—only to finally reveal why she wishes this for the teenager.
