The Brandtech Group, formerly You & Mr Jones, is in negotiations to acquire digital marketing company Jellyfish.

Launched in 2005, Jellyfish currently holds a client roster that includes Google Marketing Platform, Google Cloud, Salesforce, Amazon and Facebook.

The talks come two-and-a-half years after Jellyfish received an investment of $612 million (500 million pounds) to aid its global expansion which included five acquisitions last year to grow its capabilities in data and analytics, e-commerce, content creation and localization services.

Should the deal go through, it would see Jellyfish, which currently has office locations around the world including London, Baltimore, Durban, South Africa, Barcelona, Boston and Dubai, UAE, join a network of agencies that includes Oliver, Gravity Road, MoFilm, Mokobi, 55 and Collectively.

Neither party has commented on the talks outside of releasing a paragraph-long statement to disclose a potential deal was being negotiated.

“The Brandtech Group announced today it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Fimalac and Jellyfish, to potentially acquire global digital marketing company, Jellyfish,” the statement read.

Bottom line

Following the completion of last year’s acquisitions of Seelk, Splash, Quill, Data Runs Deep and Webedia Brand Services, Pierre explained: “Our mission is to ensure that our clients have all the resources needed to fully embrace digital transformation and reach results that transcend every expectation.”

In June, The Brandtech Group finalized another acquisition when it took a majority stake in e-commerce SaaS platform, Acorn-i.
