Cop Undone By Photos Of Bikini Girls On Facebook

A word to the wise: If you are a cop, it's probably not a good idea to allow photos of bikini-clad women draped over your official police vehicle to wind up on Facebook. One police officer in Moncks Corner, South Carolina did that and is now out of a job, according to The State newspaper. The photos were taken at a car wash last Sunday at Rockstar Tattoo Studio on Redbank Road. It's understood the bikini-clad dancers were from Diamonds North night club in North Charleston. Police Chief Chad Caldwell would not identify the officer or whether he was fired or asked to resign, since it was a personnel matter. However, he did confirm that allowing bikini-clad women to be photographed next to a police cruiser, was a violation of department policies. "I think he took his personal car there first and then he went in his police car," Caldwell told The State. "I don't think he was trying to be malicious. I think he used completely poor judgment. It reflects badly not only on the police department. It reflects badly on the town." The photos were reportedly posted on the Rockstar Tattoo Studios Facebook page, though I can't find this page on the social networking site. It sounds to me like the police officer was well-intentioned but perhaps a bit foolish. Maybe he just wanted his car washed but if he'd already gone in his personal vehicle, then he would have known about the bikini girls. It doesn't sound like he was responsible for publishing the photos but presumably he would have been there when they were taken. And it might not have occurred to him that they would wind up online but it's always worth checking. In this day and age, any photos can wind up on Facebook so it's much harder to get away with this kind of thing. The police department obviously knew about the photos straight away, given that the carwash was Sunday. In a bigger town the photos might have a bit longer to surface, but Moncks Corner only has a population of about 6,000 so there's really nowhere to hide. The latest post on the wall says: "Thanks to whoever tried to get people in trouble for coming to our charity car wash, that makes alot of sense, shows how people are these days."
