YouTube provided some clarification on how social justice content on its platform is or is not monetized.
The Google-owned video site said videos that can be monetized include those on topics like Black culture, Black excellence and Black Lives Matter, as well as a wide range of social justice issues.
However, targeting of ads against hateful terms is prohibited, and content hateful toward Blacks or other marginalized communities, including videos with themes like white nationalism or other offensive topics, cannot be monetized.
