Pinterest said searches on its platform containing “weight loss” are down 20% since it implemented its ban on ads containing weight loss language and imagery in July 2021.
The platform released its Global Body Neutrality Report, saying that Pinners are instead coming to Pinterest in search of healthy habits, with searches for quick and healthy meals up 65 times from mid-April through mid-May of this year compared with the same period in 2021, while queries for healthy food motivation were up 13 times during the same period.
