Tax Tips From the IRS to You(Tube)

The Internal Revenue Service has set up its own YouTube channel to distribute useful tips and advice to taxpayers via video, Wall Street Journal blogger Mary Pilon reports.

Called irsvideo, the agency’s channel began posting videos earlier this month. Currently there are 11 videos available in two categories: Tax Tips and Recovery. Among the titles:

Tax Scams
Charitable Contributions
Careers at the IRS
Education Credits

So far the channel only has 132 subscribers, but that should increase 1) as more taxpayers become aware of this IRS service and 2) after the New Year, when tax season begins to loom. Interestingly, the IRS has disabled the comments feature for all of the videos even as it allows visitors to the channel to sort the videos by “most discussed.”
