Movement To Ban Divorce Gains Traction On Facebook

In a statement against California Proposition 8, a Sacramento Web designer has set up a website and Facebook Page to promote the banning of divorce in California. So far the movement has attracted over 13,000 fans and is growing after a day of widespread coverage. For those that are unaware of Proposition 8, it was a ballot proposition and constitutional amendment passed last year to limit marriage to opposite-sex couples.

John Marcotte, who set up the site and Facebook Page, says “Since California has decided to protect traditional marriage, I think it would be hypocritical of us not to sacrifice some of our own rights to protect traditional marriage even more.”
