LivingSocial Families Launches in Six New Markets

LivingSocial is calling their expansion "parent-approved". The daily deal company is expanding into U.S. and European cities. However, it does sound a little like a commercial, but as parent who knows, saving money this summer with kids is heaven sent. Whatever happened to just going to the park for picnic and swim?

LivingSocial is calling their expansion “parent-approved”. The daily deal company is expanding into U.S. and European cities. However, it does sound a little like a commercial, but as parent who knows, saving money this summer with kids is heaven sent. I still wonder: Whatever happened to just going to the park for a picnic and swim?

While expanding into six more locations, LivingSocial Families will offer entertaining, family-friendly experiences at a discount. The markets they are opening:

United States:

Metrowest Boston, Mass.
Waco, Texas
Des Moines, Iowa
Huntsville, Ala.

United Kingdom:

Cardiff, United Kingdom

France:

Paris, France

With the addition of these locations, LivingSocial Families has extended its reach to 135 markets worldwide. Deals are available for one full week to allow busy mama’s and papas’ time to coordinate plans with family and friends.

Discounted by at least 50 percent, the daily deals are handpicked experiences, weekend getaways and Instant Deals. Instant Deals are real-time, mobile offerings delivered via members’ smart phones allowing merchants to drive members to their businesses and provide deals within a close distance of their location.

Catering to the family unit separates LivingSocial from the rest of the daily deal companies. Sure, competition is fierce, but expanding to a specific market will help the company’s overall expansion. Another program offered by LivingSocial is the referral incentive that gives users a chance to get their deal for free. Once a deal is purchased, the buyer can share the deal using a unique link generated at checkout. If three friends purchase the deal through the link, the original buyer’s deal is free.
