Instagram: Here's How to Hide Inappropriate Comments
Follow this guide to hide comments containing offensive words or phrases
Did you know you can have Instagram automatically hide comments that contain offensive words or phrases? Our guide will show you how to activate this feature within the Instagram application.

Step 1: Tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap the gear icon.
Step 3: Under “Settings,” tap “Comments.”
Step 4: Tap the toggle next to “Hide Inappropriate Comments” to turn this feature on. With the feature turned on, the app will automatically hide comments containing “words or phrases often reported as offensive.”
Note: You can customize your experience even further by having the app hide comments containing “Custom Keywords” you designate.
