Google Employees to Participate in Moment of Silence Lasting 8 Minutes and 46 Seconds

The company will donate $12 million to organizations working to address racial inequities

Google employees will come together via livestream at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET Wednesday (June 3) and stand for a moment of silence lasting eight minutes and 46 seconds, representing the amount of time George Floyd’s neck was pinned under a police officer’s knee during an arrest in Minneapolis May 25, leading to his death.
