France Takes A Hint From 'Will It Blend?' In New Tourism Campaign

France is following in the footsteps of Blendtec’s popular ‘Will It Blend?’ with a new French tourism campaign in the Netherlands called ‘Will It Mix?’ The campaign takes a hilarious look at whether the French mix well with other cultures by blending the French icons Asterix and Obelix together with Harry Potter, Mario, Dirk Kuijt and ET. Will it mix? You’ll have to watch the video after the jump to find out.

The ‘Will It Mix?’ campaign comes from Atout France, who is offering people in the Netherlands the opportunity to win a trip for four to France. Contestants simply have to be friends with France on Facebook or Hyves and write about what the best mix for a successful holiday in France would be. The two best ideas will be rewarded with two great 4-person holidays in France.

The idea to take the ‘Will It Blend?’ idea and run with it was a great one. After all, if you are looking for a campaign to go viral it is always good to take a hint from other successful viral campaigns. This campaign has taken the blending idea in the right direction, saying that France wants to prove to the rest of the world that they can “mix well” with other cultures.

Check out the video below and let us know your thoughts. I, for one, thought it was hilarious and have been chuckling about it all day. I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes viral around the globe, and not just in the Netherlands. What do you think of the ‘Will It Mix?’ campaign? Do you think their homage to ‘Will It Blend?’ will be a success?
