Facebook last week detailed a host of updates to its business terms, all of which go into effect Aug. 31.
The social network is rolling out new global data processing terms that apply to all advertisers worldwide, not just those subject to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.
Facebook said in a blog post that this update will help advertisers that require data processing agreements to use Facebook’s business tools or custom audiences, in accordance with their local laws.
The company’s business tools terms are also being revised, including the incorporation of a joint controller addendum, which clarifies the responsibilities of Facebook Ireland and businesses subject to GDPR.
