Facebook has formally apologized for erroneously removing a photo of two men kissing; the creator of the event protesting this error called the protest a success while conceding that “half-truths” drove a lot of the uproar.
The protest page called Kissing is cool had amassed 41,407 participants, and the organizer of the virtual event posted the following today:
The statement from Facebook:”The photo in question does not violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and was removed in error,” the statement, obtained by America Blog, says. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
The event has been mostly a success. It has been found to be based on half truths as you can see on all the links posted. People respond to what they hear and see. Even though some of it turns out to be false. The event was based on good intentions and remains so. No one should feel uncomfortable showing affection for someone they love. A kiss in friendship, in greeting, in departing and most importantly in love isn’t wrong. Be comfortable with who you are and who you love.
