YouTube recently added an optional feature to its mobile application that will remind users to “take a break” after they’ve watched videos for a set amount of time. Our guide will show you how to set up this feature on your own account.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the YouTube app on iOS. Also note, when you turn on this reminder feature, the app won’t actually force you to take a break from watching videos—it will simply prompt you to do so.

Step 1: Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap “Settings.”

Step 3: Tap “Remind me to take a break.”

Step 4: Tap one of the time options to have the YouTube app remind you to take a break as you watch videos. You can choose 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 180 minutes.
