YouTube Community Social Networking Features Launch in Beta

The social feature adds a new tab to users' YouTube channels, which gives creators a new way to engage with their viewers.

YouTube announced the beta release of YouTube Community. The social feature adds a new tab to users’ YouTube channels, which gives creators a new way to engage with their viewers.

With YouTube Community, creators can share text posts, live videos, images, GIFs and more to their Community feeds. Subscribers can see this content in the Subscriptions feed on their phones. Viewers can also opt in to receive notifications when creators post new content to their Community feeds.

For now, this beta is only available for a limited number of YouTube creators, but YouTube said it plans to add additional creators to the feature in the future.

In a blog post, Kiley McEvoy, senior product manager at YouTube, commented:

Community is a special release for us because it represents the deepest product collaboration we’ve ever done with creators like you.
