Facebook and Google users will soon no longer be able to use credentials from those sites to log in to Yahoo services such as fantasy sports and photo-sharing network Flickr, instead being required to register for Yahoo IDs, Reuters reported.
A Yahoo spokeswoman confirmed the move to Reuters, saying that it will roll out gradually, starting with the Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick’Em NCAA Tournament competition, and adding:
Yahoo is continually working on improving the user experience. (This) will allow us to offer the best personalized experience to everyone.
Facebook and Google sign-in buttons will be removed from all Yahoo properties, the spokeswoman told Reuters, declining to specify timing.
