After a three-year hiatus, Facebook’s F8 developer conference returns this month. According to Wired, the delay was partially due to the company’s inability to help developers monetize their apps. This year, monetization will be a key component of the event.
But monetization isn’t anything without scale, and it seems that the developer ecosystem is becoming less and less diverse. Last month, the top 10 apps alone had a 40 percent market share in terms of daily active users (DAUs), according to AppData’s new Power Rankings.
