2011 was a big year for Vimeo.  Not only did their membership increase by a whopping 82 percent and viewership increase by 48 percent, but they also launched a bunch of new services and features, making 2011 the biggest year ever for the video site.  To celebrate, Vimeo launched a fun infographic roundup of their biggest 2011 news and statistics.

But before we get to the infographic, here’s a little insight from Vimeo’s Director of Community, Blake Whitman, from the Vimeo blog.  Blake writes, “While we’re reluctant to blow our own trumpets, we will shyly admit that we accomplished kind of sort of a lot in 2010.”  They launched Vimeo PRO, a new service for small businesses and commercial use; they launched the Vimeo Music Store; they started providing product discounts for PRO and Plus members via Vimeo Perks; announced the next Vimeo Festival + Awards; published their 100th Video School lesson and more.

Whitman also promises that they’ve got a bunch of new stuff planned for 2012.  “Like REALLY BIG STUFF,” he says.  “You’ll know about some of it really soon, and other things a little later.  Sorry to be cryptic.  We like keeping you on the edge of your armchair.”
