Video Previews May Be Coming To Android Market

If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth? Some times it can be difficult to understand how an app works while browsing through the Android Market. Most apps include a few screenshots but they tend to not provide enough information. According to jkOnTheRun, Google appears to be planning to add links to YouTube video demonstrations of apps to the Android Market.

While Google has not officially announced the inclusion of video links, the Android Market alternative AppsFire has discovered the capability and has already incorporated it into their app. As you can see in the screenshot, the Video Demo link is prominent on the AppsFire page, and clicking the link starts the YouTube app on the phone that plays the video. I think the inclusion of a Video Demo link makes a lot of sense, particularly given that it leverages YouTube, which Google owns.
