Twitter Is Doing Its Part to Get Out the Vote in the U.S.

The social network followed Facebook, Instagram in partnering with TurboVote

Nonprofit, nonpartisan organization TurboVote has been the darling of social networks of late, with Twitter announcing that the two companies partnered to launch a National Voter Registration Day campaign, following similar TurboVote initiatives with Facebook and Instagram.

Starting Monday, people on Twitter began seeing prompts in their timelines with information on how they can register to vote.

Clicking that prompt takes users to this page, which enables them to sign up for election reminders, register to vote and apply for absentee ballots.

Those who are already registered to vote can encourage their followers to follow suit, with the #BeAVoter hashtag triggering a new emoji to help drive conversation.
