TMZ Brings Ad Sales In-House

TMZ brought its ad sales in-house earlier this month, paidContent reported. They had previously been handled by AOL’s Platform-A. TMZ is owned by AOL and Telepictures, and it is still working with the latter on ad sales for its TV show.

TMZ.com general manager Pam Russo told paidContent TMZ and TMZ.com outgrew the Platform-A infrastructure and the methods AOL uses to sell ads.

AOL still hosts TMZ.com, and the celebrity site still uses Blogsmith, the blog content-management system AOL uses for its own blog sites, according to paidContent.
