This Week In Viral Videos – Insulted Celebs & Half-Naked Commuters

This week's top viral videos include the annual No Pants Subway Ride, Ricky Gervais' celebrity insult-athon from the Golden Globes, a video that proves that it's not safe to walk and text and more. Enjoy!

Thank goodness it’s Friday! I love Fridays because the weekend is almost here, of course, but I love Fridays even more because it’s the day that we bring you our list of the best viral videos of the week. This week is a real doozy – we’ve got the annual No Pants Subway Ride, Ricky Gervais’ celebrity insult-athon from the Golden Globes, a girl falling into a fountain that proves that it’s not safe to walk and text and more. Check ’em all out below and let us know what your favorite viral video was this week!

Golden Globes 2011 – Ricky Gervais Opening Monologue

Ricky Gervais sure managed to offend a lot of celebrities as the Golden Globes this week, and he managed to get a ton of laughs from viewers as well. His opening monologue from the show quickly went viral this week and has nearly 4 million views so far. He manages to trash Charlie Sheen, The Tourist, Cher, Sex In The City 2, a “famous scientologist” (Tom Cruise, anyone?), Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris, Hurley from LOST and Mel Gibson within five short minutes.

Natalie Portman Dorky Giggle At 2011 Golden Globes

A video that looped Natalie Portman’s maniacal laugh during her acceptance speech also went viral this week, garnering over 443,000 views since it was uploaded on Sunday.

After that video went viral, uploaded their own version. Do you think this was a coincidence or should College Humor be slapped with copycat charges?

Girl falls into fountain while texting at the Berkshire Mall

Over 2.5 million viewers will think before trying to text and walk at the same time again. This video features a woman falling, face first, into a fountain while trying to text in the mall.

Would you be embarrassed if that was you in the viral video above? Apparently the woman from this clip was embarrassed enough that she is thinking about suing the mall. I agree with her that it was inappropriate of mall security to upload the video to YouTube. However, in the original video it would have been impossible to recognize the woman. Now that she’s been interviewed on CNN everyone and their mother know who she is. So much for anonymity. I’ve got a feeling she’s trying to make some money out of this, like Antoine Dodson and Ted Williams did. I’ll be interested to see how this plays out.

No Pants Subway Ride 2011

This week Improv Everywhere uploaded their annual ‘No Pants Subway Ride’ video. What would you do if you were on the subway, or a bus, or any public place for that matter, and a bunch of people without pants in came in like there was nothing weird about it?

Please Give Me One Million Dollars – Success!

One of the biggest online video stories of this week was the story of Craig Rowin – the comedian that asked the Internet for one million dollars and got it! You can read the full story here, but basically, Rowin sent a YouTube video shout out to millionaires asking for one million dollars because he thought “it would be awesome”. According to the latest video, he’s found a millionaire that is willing to make his wish come true!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Sings in Memphis

And because Martin Luther King Day was this week, here’s the Gregory Brothers’ auto-tuned homage to MLK. It’s been viewed over 1 million times this week.
