Target Releases Product Recognition App In a Snap on iOS

Leading retailer Target is testing its newest iOS app, In a Snap, which works to help users learn more information about, and gain access to purchasing Target-branded items displayed in advertisements in magazines or catalogs.

The app uses the camera on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices to recognize items, and then shows users additional information about the products. From there, the item(s) can be added to the user’s cart and purchased.

In a Snap has launched alongside Target’s back-to-college campaign, and recognizes ads for the company’s Room Essentials products in issues of Real Simple, Architectural Digest, Domino and more.
