Mobile game company Storm8 released an infographic detailing some of the mobile gaming habits exhibited by its players around the world.
Storm8 analyzed data from 75 million players on its network from the second half of 2015 through the first quarter of 2016, and it found that globally, players are most engaged with mobile games on Mondays, while they take a break on Sundays. Japanese players were found to be the exception to this, as their playtime reportedly stays consistent throughout the week.
Among Storm8’s top 10 countries, Japanese, German and Russian players were found to play two to three times more per week than users in the other top 10 countries. In addition, Storm8 said “casual” game players play 30 percent longer per week than players of social casino games, and 120 percent longer per week than simulation game players.
Elsewhere, Storm8 said simulation game players are overall the most dedicated throughout the year, even during holiday periods such as Christmas and New Year’s. Social casino game players, meanwhile, exhibited a nearly 40 percent dip in play time the week after the New Year holiday.
Finally, the back-to-school season also contributed to a decline in gameplay, as casual game players spent 7 percent less time playing mobile games during the month of September. During that same month, social casino and simulation game players spent 10 percent less time playing mobile games.
