Shifts Atop Discovery Communications Affect Digital

Digital operations at Discovery Communications will now be overseen by chief operating officer Peter Liguori and newly hired executive vice president of global production management, business, and legal affairs Lee Bartlett (pictured), following the promotion of Bruce Campbell to chief development officer and general counsel, from president of digital media and corporate development.

Bartlett will oversee business-affairs and production-management strategies with day-to-day oversight of acquisition of programming content for all of the media company’s networks and digital platforms globally, including content deals, intellectual property, licensing, and other issues. He had been managing director of ITV Studios in the United Kingdom. Prior to ITV, Bartlett served as executive VP of business affairs for Fox Broadcasting.

Campbell assumes the general counsel role from Joe LaSala, who will leave the company at the end of the year. Campbell will continue to oversee global business development for Discovery. David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
