Also in CBS news, Sonya McNair has been named head of comms for CBS News. She will oversee media and talent relations, as well as day-to-day PR and internal comms for CBS News, CBS Radio News,, and the CBS News Polling & Survey Unit.

Ankit Desai joins MWW Group as SVP of the Washington D.C. office. Desai was previously MD of the venture capital firm Third Group and has worked with VP (then Democratic Sen.) Joe Biden and Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA).

Nicholas Lehman has joined NBCUniversal in a newly-created position, president of digital for NBCUniversal’s Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media division. He’ll report to the chairwoman of the division, Lauren Zalaznick. He’ll oversee digital businesses including Daily Candy, iVillage, and Fandango. Previously, he was CEO of Plum TV.

John Myers has joined Glover Park Group as VP in the government affairs practice. Previously, he was senior adviser to former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA). Myers has spent more than 10 years on Capitol Hill and has worked on various legislation, particularly in the health and science areas.

Starbucks has hired U.S. Airways’ communications head Jim Olson to serve as its head of corporate communications starting April 25. Starbucks’ current director of corporate communications, Deb Trevino, is leaving the company for personal reasons. US Airways is currently looking for a replacement. Olson handled the PR surrounding the Capt. Sully’s landing in the Hudson River last year. [via PRWeek]
