Reuters Teams Up with NDN on Video Solution

Reuters and News Distribution Network teamed up on an ad-based revenue-sharing model for a video solution for newspapers, magazines and radio stations, covering categories including news, business, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle.

The two companies said NDN’s platform leverages Reuters’ editorial capabilities, and once created and aggregated in NDN’s control room, video content is indexed and coded for efficient search and publishing by clients, respectively.

Thomson Reuters managing director, Reuters news agency Christoph Pleitgen said:

This collaboration allows us to be at the center of a content-distribution play, alongside other premium-content owners, and adds value to the U.S. media market by providing a competitive alternative with a commercial benefit.

And NDN CEO Greg Peters added:

We believe this strategic relationship is a critical step toward bringing online publishers the content and services needed to revolutionize their product offering.
