Random House Claims Backlist eBook Rights: A Super-Brief Update

An eBookNewser reader, and author, asked a good question in the comments to today’s first post about the Random House announcement that it is asserting ownership of eBook rights to its backlist. This reader wanted to know if the announcement applies to all Random House imprints, including niche publishers like Watson-Guptill.

When asked this question, Random House spokesperson Stuart Applebaum told eBookNewser, “Yes, all of them.”

Given the sheer number of authors affected by today’s news, it seems this point deserves some clarification.
