PRWeek Gets a New Editor in Chief

(Keith O’Brien, new PRWeek EiC)

According to their own story, the two top editorial people have moved up a rung. Julia Hood–a PRWeek staffer since 2000–moves from Editor in Chief to Publishing Director to get more involved in Haymarket’s busines side. The new EiC is Keith O’Brien, promoted from Executive Editor.

The blog-savvy O’Brien joined the trade magazine in 2004, at a time when social media became the pressing concern in the industry.

We took the opportunity to catch up with Hood this afternoon, “Keith dragged us in to that realm, not only in his reporting on new media trends, but helping us modernize our own approach through with the addition of blogs and podcasts.”

Check out Keith’s partially related personal blog Ubiquitous Marketing, or visit the magazine’s four blogs here.

Stay tuned for more on the annual PRWeek awards this Thursday.
