Project Gutenberg eBooks Will Work On iPad

You will be able to read the vast library of public domain books that is Project Gutenberg on your iPad, reports TUAW. This is not really a surprise–you can read them on your iPhon–but as ipad delivery date approaches, more and more eBook fans (and blogs) are wondering about and taking stock of what books will be available to them.

Most likely, you’ll be able to import the 30,000 Project Gutenberg titles into iBooks, as Apple promised EPub compatibility for its eReader app. If for some reason you can’t, you’ll still be able to Project Gutenberg through Stanza and Porject Gutenbert’s own Web site, as you can on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Unless, of course, Stanza mysteriously disappears again, as it did last week due to a network glitch, though its founder wouldn’t comment on the notable lack of plans for an iPad-specific Stanza app.
