Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve recently seen television host Ellen DeGeneres cry her eyes out about a puppy adoption that went dreadfully wrong. Maybe it’s her tears or the presence of first frost here in the Northeast that has us all warm and mushy over pet adoption. It’s nice to see we’re not alone. That’s why Petfinder.com, the Web site that matches little furry creatures with homes, is moving its way on to the screen. Owned by Discovery Communications under the Animal Planet brand, the new show will focus on local animal shelters and the families who open their hearts.
