PBS Launches PBS Arts

PBS Arts debuted Monday, marking the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with virtual exhibition “Ruin and Revival,” featuring works from the “Storm Cycle” collection by New Orleans-based artist Thomas Mann.

The site will feature other virtual exhibits, video from PBS national and local offerings, and interactive components, all organized into exhibitions and searchable by artistic discipline, and it will cover genres including dance, theater, contemporary music, opera, painting, sculpture, film, and photography. Users will be able to comment, upload their own content, and share via Facebook and Twitter.
