Palin Releases Video in Response to AZ Shooting

Sarah Palin has released a video with her take on the response to the weekend shooting in Tucson, AZ. In the clip she says Jared Lee Loughner is the “single evil man” responsible for the tragedy and rejects the “irresponsible statements” of those, like “journalists and pundits” who would try to place blame elsewhere. Moreover, she dismisses any debate about whether political rhetoric had anything to do with the shooting.’s First Read column asks about the timing of the video, which was released 15 hours before a memorial service will be held tonight where President Obama will be speaking.

“Should she have released this via Web video? Why not do this via interview? Should she have released this video BEFORE today’s memorial service or waited until tomorrow? Is it fair to use this video to judge her ability to be presidential at a time of crisis or national tragedy? If so, was this a presidential-caliber speech?” it reads.

Update: The video was removed and then put back online seemingly without edits. There’s been no explanation for the removal, or the video itself, Business Insider reports.
