Oil Tycoon: Yahoo Management ‘Pathetic’

Billionaire investor and oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens has skewered Yahoo’s management for failing to reach a deal with Microsoft to sell all or part of the Web portal, according to the The San Francisco Chronicle.

The report said that Pickens, who bought 10 million Yahoo shares in May in hopes that an acquisition was imminent, said Monday that he got “tired of waiting for a deal” and sold all his shares at a loss. “I think that Yahoo management was pathetic,” Pickens said in the report.

What’s significant about this is that Pickens didn’t invest until after that other billionaire investor, Carl Icahn, bought a stake in Yahoo and promised to sideline its board in favor of a more merger-friendly lineup.

At any rate, the all-important Yahoo shareholder meeting is tomorrow, so we’re bound to hear something by then. And you thought this was over.
