Number Game Spreads Virally On Facebook

Right now there's a new meme spreading through Facebook which is a pretty random game that was started by an unknown user. The game results in status updates which start with a number followed by public messages. Only the person the message is about will know that the message is directed about them.

It’s a pretty creative idea but the most common statement among Facebook users right now is that the “numbers game is stupid”. So far all the participants in the numbers game that I’ve seen have been extremely positive. One of my personally favorite comments comes “Mark GhosttownGoonie Dobbins” as pictured in the image below:

#7 my fav number frm one my fav ppl yo i remember da first tyme i met chu neva seen a smile so byg… grl was so beautiful…we been thru alot ayt ups and a lil dwns but nutten to serious but only if i didnt get mad dat one tyme who would kno wut kould of been love ya

Seriously, I have no idea what language that’s written in, however I feel somewhat bad that I can decrypt it. Whoever said that text messaging was bad for young people as it damages their English clearly didn’t know what they were talking about … this is so well written! In order to participate in the game, all you need to do is post the following status update to your profile:

Send me a number in my inbox and I will repost the number and what I think about you in my status! Nobody except me and you will know who I’m talking about. Then post this as your status and try it with your friends!!

While I will not be participating in the game myself, there are already thousands of people playing the game. Who knows how long it will last but it’s definitely another interesting Facebook meme.
