New hires in mobile: Arkadium, Gameloft and Tapjoy

Hiring in the mobile apps sector was up significantly this week, with 35 new hires spread between 12 companies. Based on information from LinkedIn and other sources, Gameloft, InMobi, Natural Motion and GREE showed the most activity and Natural Motion had the week’s highest profile hire, bringing aboard Dan Borthwick as Head of the company’s London Studio. Arkadium Sean Hamilton, Artist/Designer - We start this week’s roundup with four hires for Arkadium’s mobile focused Toronto studio. Hamilton previously worked at Ganz as a senior artist. Adam Chan, Lead Programmer - Industry vet Chan comes to Arkadium following stints at EA, Disney, Longtail, and Bedlam. Masoud Soleimani, Programmer - Masoud was previously the platform team lead at Magmic Inc. Diana Arruda, Producer - Arruda was a producer at Gameloft before joining the Arkadium team. Booyah Jon Slavin, Junior Game Designer - Slavin was previously a level designer at Nihilistic Software Gameloft Ray Gaffoor, Video Game Producer - Gameloft also has several hires this week. First up is Gaffoor, who was previously a line producer at Silicon Knights. Susana Isabel Jimenez Montes, Human Resources - Monetes moves from a human resources position with TSB Desarrollo. Mariana Yonamine, Designer - Yonamine was previously an artist and designer at Globant. Germain Mazac, Engine Developer - Mazac comes to Gameloft from Asobo Studios. Praditya Vinta Arya, Submission Department - Arya held a staff position at PT Kertas Nusantara before joining the Gameloft team. Juan Pablo Galant, Web Marketing Designer and Illustrator - Galant was formerly a was 2D artist at Vostu. Lemur Gomez, 2D Artist, Illustrator - Gomez was previously a concept artist and animator at ARTS cultura y desarrollo. GREE Harrison Shih, Product Manager, Platform - GREE also reports four hires this week. Shih was previously a marketing manager at Google. Patrick Boocock, Business Intelligence Data Analyst - Boocock was previously an analyst/project coordinator at Kabam. Vijay Krishnan, Senior Associate, Corporate Development - Krishnan was an analyst at Citigroup. Ken Yoneda Le, Lead Technical Translator - Finally Le joins GREE after a stint as a freelance writer for Ars Technica. InMobi Spencer Kuhn, Sales & Ad Operations Intern - Five hires this week for InMobi. Kuhn was previously a business strategy consultant at Batum Foundation. Prakher Anand, Software Developer - Anand starts his career at InMobi. Sneha Jha, SDET - Jha was formerly a campus ambassador for Twenty19.com. Vasuta Agarwal, Manager, Founders Team - Agarwal was previously an associate at the McKinsey & Company law firm. Ramnik Jain, Software Engineer - Finally Jain comes to InMobi from IBM Research where he was also a software engineer. MocoSpace Subra Nahappan, Senior Software Engineer - Mocospace is another company reporting multiple hires. Nahappan joins the team after leaving Swap.com Yiwen Gao, Web Developer - Gao was formerly a software engineer at FreeCause. Andrew Rabon, Web Developer - Rabon begins his career with MocoSpace. Cole St. Laurent, Game QA Engineer - Finally St. Laurent moves from Seven45 Studios where he was a database coordinator. Natural Motion Dan Borthwick, Head of London Studio - This week’s highest profile hire, Borthwick was previously the common technology lead at Playfish. Osman Nazlitavan, Technical Artist - Next up is Nazlitavan, who was previously at Hotch Potch Games. Craig Moore, 3D Artist - Moore was previously a Senior Environment Artist at Black Rock Studios. Robert Jackson, Lead Artist - Finally Jackson was a senior artist at Playfish before joining Natural Motion Pocket Gems Pradeep Dorairaj, Mobile Engineer - Pocket Gems makes our list this week with a single hire. Dorairaj was previously a software engineer at Cisco Systems. Rovio Nina Lampela, Support Operations Coordinator - Lampela gets a promotion this week, moving from her former position as customer support specialist. SNAP Interactive Geoffrey Brookins, Vice President of Engineering - Brookins was previously the CTO of e-mail intelligence company eDataSource. Tapjoy Pete Holiday, Software Engineer - A pair of hires at Tapjoy. Holiday was formerly a developer at Remark Media. Trevor Campbell, Sales Representative - Campbell joins the Tapjoy team from a position in accounts payable at The Bank of Santa Barbara. Storm8 Todd Legate, User Relations Associate - Legate was previously a player experience associate at Kabam.
