Since the last time that we wrote about Flowd, the location-based music app has grown and now, to celebrate its success, it has decided to help a few friends throw a little party: the massively anticipated Armin van Buuren produced A State of Trance (ASOT) 500.

Continuing its existing relationship with the trance scene — and, specifically, DJ Armin van Buuren — Flowd will be working alongside ALDA Events and record label, Armada Music to help organize ASOT 500, an international concert series that marks the 500th episode of van Buuren’s A State of Trance radio show.

The dance music celebration, taking place this spring, has already estimated a live audience of over 100,000 (and countless others tuning in to radio or online broadcasts, making it an ideal choice for Flowd’s participation. A State of Trance 500 will see a line-up of popular DJs heading across the world to play to eager crowds. On March 19th, the tour kicks off in Johannesburg, South Africa and, before its April 16th finale in Sydney, Australia it will travel to Miami, U.S., Buenos Aires, Argentina and Den Bosch, Holland.

Flowd, aside from gaining further name recognition, will also be acting as the official news and photo source for ASOT 500’s Miami, Florida stop at the Ultra Music Festival on March 27th. Flowd users will be able to check out new media from the event as concert attendees upload shots and comments to the app’s ASOT 500 wall. User generated content will also be posted at the official A State of Trance website.

DJ Armin van Buuren is set to announce further details of Flowd’s partnership with ASOT 500 on the Thursday, March 3rd edition of the A State of Trance radio show.
