LinkedIn Tops 1 Million Users in Spain

Professional networking site LinkedIn announced that it topped the 1 million-member mark in Spain, less than one year after reaching 500,000 last September.
The majority of LinkedIn’s members in the country are based in Madrid and Barcelona, although cities including Valencia, Bilbao, and Sevilla are seeing their numbers grow. LinkedIn said the most represented companies on its network in Spain are Indra Sistemas, Accenture, Telefónica, and Grupo BBVA.
LinkedIn Europe managing director Kevin Eyres said:

Spain is adopting LinkedIn with accelerating speed. Driving this growth is the increasing realization of the benefits of having and keeping your online professional identity up to date and building your network of trusted contacts. In our working lives, the Internet is now often our first destination when we’re looking for advice or expertise; it makes sense to have your skills and experience available so you can be discovered by your next opportunity. Spanish users have quickly understood this and use the platform more and more, as shown by the fact that they are one of the most dynamic communities in creating groups.
