Facebook Testing New Likes Box In Profiles

Facebook is currently testing a new box within profiles that displays all the Pages that a user has liked on the site. While the information was previously available on the “Info” tab within a user’s profile, it appears that this new version will consolidate Likes to the sidebar. Under the current version the likes also show up above friends on the profile sidebar, effectively pushing a user’s friends “below the fold”.

One has to wonder why Facebook chose this positioning as the listing of friends tends to be one of the key features which drive engagement on a social networking site.
